manufacturer overview

Kunert (stockings, pantyhose)

The German hosiery manufacturer was founded in 1907 and was, during the era of Julius Kunert, at times among Europe 's largest stocking manufacturers. Kunert took over the competitor Hudson and also bought the sock manufacturer Burlington . Kunert stands not only for exclusiveness and timelessly classic elegance, but also for innovation. Thus products such as cotton thrombosis stockings, trekking socks designed to prevent blisters and support hose designed for particular movement patterns, etc. are developed again and again in partnership cooperations.

Jacob Rohner AG (socks, men's socks, sport socks)

The company, with its headquarters in Balgach is a renowned Swiss company that has specialized for more than 50 years in the manufacture of functional socks for sports, leisure and everyday use. With modern machines, the constant clarification of consumer needs and know-how, the prerequisites for the production of high-quality sport and fine socks are given. With Rohner diabetic socks, they are also active in the health area. In order to protect the quality socks from damage, a packaging concept was created that does without the shooting through of a plastic splint. Annual production today lies at approx. 2 million socks.

The manufacture of socks began in 1933 with the purchase of sock and stocking maker machines. The purchase of newer and better machines ensured that Rohner Socks gradually developed into a synonym for quality and an increasing number of Swiss "picked up their Rohner socks". The sock factory can thus today justifiably claim to be a Swiss market leader. In addition, since the purchase of the Seance and Flexy brands in 2001, the Jacob Rohner AG has also become active in the area of fine stockings and pantyhose.

The manufacture of nylon

In order to manufacture textile fibres, the nylon raw material is melted, filtered and pressed through spinning nozzles. The threads are stiffened with the help of blower air and are then stretched to approx. 4 times their original length. The diameter of the threads is defined in that the speed is set at which the melted nylon is pressed through the spin nozzles and at which the threads are pulled away.
